Recent advances on numerical study of Maxwell's equations in metamaterials

Abstract: Since 2000, there has been a growing interest in the study of metamaterials across many disciplinaries. In this talk, I'll first introduce the metamaterials, and some of its interesting applications. Then I'll present the metamaterial modeling equations, and some time-domain finite element methods recently developed for solving the time-dependent Maxwell's equations in metamaterials. Finally, some
numerical results and open issues will be discussed.
